18 Month Check Up

Jackson had his 18 month check up today.  The Dr. said "He is doing excellent!"  No immunizations today!  His stats are below.

Weight: 26 lbs, 2 ounces (50-75%)
Height: 33 1/4 inches (75-90%)
Head circumference: 19 1/4 inces (75-90%)

Some of the things they check for at this appointment are whether he says 3 words, knows 2 body parts, can scribble, walks well, can take off his own shoes, points to things, and drinks out of a sippy cup (preferably no bottles, but a couple a day is still okay).

So, good thing last week he learned where his head, ears, and toes are (in addition to knowing where his nose and tummy are) AND we stopped using bottles on Friday and are now exclusively using sippy cups (huge celebration for mom and dad since sippy cups are much easier to clean than bottles).   Two new things to come in to his life now are Flintstone vitamins (crushed up) and brushing his teeth.  We also need to start letting him eat with silverware - eek.  I forsee a much messier highchair and much happier dog.

In addition, Jackson just graduated to the Toddler room (18 to 24 mos) at school from the Waddler room (12-18 mos).

More Boating

Even though summer hasn't made a full appearance yet in Seattle, we decided to celebrate it anyway by taking the boat to Bluewater Bistro for dinner.  It was a little chilly.

Boating

Summer finally arrived in Seattle!  We celebrated by taking Jackson on his first trip boating.  Since he has no neck due to his many chins, the life jacket didn't fit too well, but we're hoping his neck will appear soon!
