I've never made a New Year's resolution before, but I've decided my life has become a bit routine and mundane given I have a husband (I love you, honey), 2 kids, 3 pets (dog, cat, fish), a house (with a housekeeper named Julie) and work 50-80 hours a week in a stressful job. So, for each month during 2013, I resolve to do at least one activity a month that is new to me - that is, something that is adventureous, scary, out-of-the ordinary, challenging, or just plain unexpected of me.
Don't expect anything too crazy - I have chosen the least risky profession in the world (estate tax - the only two things that are certain in life are death and taxes). And, don't expect anything too time consuming - I have a lot of responsibilities (see above).
Note: I am in no way complaining about my life. I LOVE my life. I recognize I have the BEST life of anyone in the entire world. I'm so grateful that I have a life that allows me the opportunity to engage in new activities and challenge myself.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that
you didn't do than by the ones you did." ~ Mark Twain.
Cheers to 2013! May everyone have a healthy, happy New Year!
